About Maharani Punam Sahi

Maharani Punam Sahi BEd. College has been established by the parent trust DERF (CT) and is under process of recognition by the NCTE. The Chairperson, Her Highness Maharani Sahiba Smt. Punam Sahi, has put every single drop of her effort into the making of an institution an ideal one. Running under the expert direction and leadership of His Highness Maharaja Bahadur Mrigendra Pratap Sahi, the instituion receives, with earnest gratefulness, bountiful benefactions from the ancient royal family of Bihar, the Hathwa Raj family.

The classrooms of Maharani Punam Sahi Bed College at Hathwa are very well-ventilated, spacious and fully equipped with the latest facilities and apparatuses.

Very often regarded as the pride of North Bihar, the school at Hathwa is well connected by train and road to other parts of India. It is just 20 kilometers away from the East & West corridor which passes through the district headquarters at Gopalganj, and is a half-an-hour drive from Siwan Junction railway station on Chapra-Gorakhpur section of the East-Central Railway. The nearest Airport is Patna Airport which is located at a distance of 175 kilometers from Hathwa.

Source of Inspiration:- The College establishment and its proceedings and activities thereafter, draw inspiration from one of the most magnificent personalities of Hathwa Raj, the Late Maharaja Bahadur of Hathwa, Gopeshwar Pratap Sahi. He was a learned figure and a true appreciator of education for whom education to one and all was not only desirable but obligatory as well.

Patronage:- The institution enjoys the royal patronage of Her Highness Durgeshwari Sahi, Rajmata of Hathwa. To the family of Hathwa Raj Group, she has been an invariable torch bearer of Indian Culture and tradition, and it is all due to her that today we are inspired to inculcate, within us, patriotism and love for Indian culture and tradition, and implement the same in all our actions and opinions.

The Lead:- The leadership of Maharani Punam Sahi B Ed College in the very reliable and extremely worthy hands of His Highness Maharaja Bahadur Mrigendra Pratap Sahi, who is a perfect father-figure. With his scholarly learning, inspiring persona, tolerant approach and bounteousness, he is a true epitome of a complete teacher who spends most of his waking hours in the pursuit of excellence in education at the school.
